Our Mojistas are supported by supervisors + managers with a specific focus on job coaching + life skills preparedness for individuals with different abilities.

Mojista Job Description

  • Opening/closing the coffee shop
  • Keeping equipment + workspace clean
  • Greeting guests warmly + enthusiastically
  • Helping guests, including informing them of daily specials/sales + answering questions
  • Taking guest orders
  • Operating the register, including giving change
  • Making coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies + more
  • Stocking + handling food items
  • Stocking supplies
  • Bagging sold merchandise
  • Being a part of a team! You will be supported by caring + qualified supervisors to complete all tasks as independently as possible.

Mojista Job Requirements

  • Work for at least 4 hours
  • Hold/carry hot liquids in a cup
  • Available to work flexible/varied shifts/days, including weekends
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Commited to be on time
  • Must pass a background check
  • Committed to follow all personal safety, food/drink safety + cleaning procedures

Two Kinds of Volunteer Opportunities

  • Brand Ambassadors
  • Mentorship Program

Mentorship Program

We are looking for mentees who are looking to learn vocational skills + mentors to support + coach them!

Mentee: An individual with IDD interested in gaining meaningful vocational skills.

Expectations of a Mentee:

  • Will be paired 1:1 or 1:2 with a mentor
  • Commit to minimum of 2 hours per week for 8 week duration
  • Will learn vocational skills

Requirements of a Mentee:

  • Eager to learn
  • Passionate about the Moji mission
  • 16 years old or older
  • Pass a background check

Mentor: An individual interested in coaching individuals with IDD on meaningful vocational skills.

Expectations of a Mentor:

  • Work 1:1 or 1:2
  • Commit to minimum of 2 hours per week for 8 week duration
  • Oversee vocational skill teaching
  • Fill out evaluations

Requirements of a Mentor:

  • Respectful
  • Patient
  • Passionate about the Moji mision
  • Positive + encouraging
  • Experience coaching individuals with differeing abilities (preferred)
  • Pass a background check

Brand Ambassadors

We are looking for individuals who love telling people about Moji + spreading jolts of joy in our community!

Expectations of Brand Ambassadors:

  • Attend special events -- both in-store + out in the community
  • Promote the Moji mission
  • Serve coffee/other drinks
  • Set up + tear down event materials

Requirements of Brand Ambassadors: 

  • Respectful
  • Patient
  • Passionate about the Moji mission
  • Positive + encoraging
